Kira Girard is the mother of Kalani Hilliker. She has appeared on Dance Moms and Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition.
In Dance Moms
Early in her time on the fourth season, Kira desperately wanted Kalani to go up against Maddie, but Abby showed no fondness for the idea.
Rumors have stated that Abby wants Maddie to win and not lose against Kalani. So far, the two have not competed directly against each other this on the fourth season of Dance Moms. Abby has said on a talk show, "Eventually Maddie and Kalani will compete against each other. But Kalani's thirteen and Maddie's eleven."[citation needed]
Kira and her daughter left the show following the midseason finale of Season 4. Kira emphasized on Twitter that she had a little boy and man at home, and chose family over fame.[6] Kira also spoke to the International Business Times, which reported that she pulled Kalani from the show in response "to a request to sign a seven-year contract in order to stay on Season 4."
In Season 5, Kira and her daughter return with little to no explaination as to the reason behind leaving, a simple "we had some issues and they have been taken care of."
Her favorite styles of dance to watch are contemporary and lyrical.
Kira decided to enroll Kalani into dance classes since it was fun and cute to dress her up, never realizing how much her daughter would grow into the dancer she is today.
Her hobbies and interests besides dance are hiking, doing things outdoors, spending time with the kids, and going to the beach.
According to Abby (with some backing by Kalani), Kira doesn't really like being on television or talking on the show, and would prefer to be elsewhere; but is there because she supports Kalani's reasons for wishing to do Dance Moms.
